Police are investigating following a report of a suspected road rage assault in Gloucester on Sunday night.

It was reported that a man, who had been driving a black Audi, followed a woman as she drove through Gloucester.

She parked up on Bristol Road in Hardwicke at around 8.45pm and the man got out of his vehicle and spat at her car before attempting to get into it.

The woman got out and challenged the man, at which point he spat, shouted and threatened to run her over.

A member of the public intervened and the man then returned to his Audi and drove off, hitting the woman with his car in the process. The woman has since attended hospital as a precaution.

Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information or who has dashcam footage which they believe is relevant is asked to make contact.
