Body found in search for missing man George

MOST READ

A body has been found during searches for a man who had been reported missing earlier this week.

Searches had been taking place to find 28-year-old George and earlier today (Thursday 9 July) a body was located by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) on Calf Way between The Camp near Miserden and Bisley.

A motorbike which it is believed George was riding was also located at the scene.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, George’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

His death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Investigating officers believe George was travelling away from Bisley when his motorbike came off the road.

They are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the motorbike being ridden between Stroud and Calf Way to get in touch.

Anyone with dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant is also asked to come forward.

Information can be submitted to police by completing the following online form quoting reference 53260056057: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/

Officers have thanked all of those who were involved in searches, including colleagues from the Severn Area Rescue Association, as well as everyone who shared the appeal to try and locate George or called in with information or potential sightings.

Our thoughts remain with the George’s family at this time.
