An influencer has opened Helen & Douglas House children’s hospice boutique-style charity shop in Stroud.

The shop, part of the Five Valleys Shopping centre, was officially opened by local home, garden and lifestyle influencer Anita Russell from Anita Russell Interiors (Instagram – @by_anitarussell) who cut the ribbon. Whilst she was there, she choose her top picks of homeware which included a green cup and saucer set (which she bought), an antique kettle and two vintage prints.

Dransfield Properties also presented a cheque for £1,000 to Helen & Douglas House from their charity fund at the opening. This could fund the provision of specialist end-of-life care for one child in their own home, including daily phone calls and supporting them in their own home.

I would also like to thank Dransfield Properties who run the Five Valleys Shopping Centre, for their support for the opening of our new shop and for the generous donation of £1,000 to our charity which will help local terminally ill children.”

Customer Sally Hayes said: “I was really impressed by this new charity shop. It’s spacious, beautifully laid out, and easy to get around, even for wheelchair users. The items on sale are absolutely lovely, and the staff were so warm and welcoming. It feels great to shop here knowing that every purchase supports such a special and important children’s charity. I will be back.”
