Emergency services are responding to a serious house fire on Brimscombe Hill near Stroud, where three people are currently unaccounted for.
Police, fire crews, and ambulance teams were called to the property at around 3am on Boxing Day. One person managed to escape and has been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.
Efforts are ongoing to locate the three individuals believed to have been inside the property at the time of the fire.
Brimscombe Hill remains closed while emergency services work at the scene. Members of the public are urged to avoid the area to allow crews to operate safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
At 6pm, December 26th, Stroud MP Dr Simon Opher posted on social media: “Today’s news from Brimscombe is awful.
“Our hearts go out to those involved. We will do what we can to support the victims and their families. It is a tragedy for the whole community.
“I have been in touch with the police to offer our support. While it is the role of the emergency services to deal with this sort of situation, it always affects those involved, and we thank them for their professionalism.
“Our thoughts are with you all.”
