The management team at The Stroud Hotel has stressed that it is “business as usual” after the hotel was placed on the market for £3.25 million.

Located opposite Stroud railway station, the Grade II-listed property was originally constructed in the early 1860s as The Imperial Hotel.

Posting on social media, the team said: “We wanted to share an update regarding The Stroud Hotel.

“The hotel has recently been placed on the market for sale. We understand this may raise questions, but we would like to reassure you that it is very much business as usual here at the hotel.

“Most importantly, we remain fully committed to looking after you throughout your stay. Whether you have booked a function, a wedding, a dining reservation or a hotel getaway, please rest assured that your booking is safe and will go ahead as planned.

“Furthermore, our team is the heart and soul of the hotel and will not be going anywhere. You can continue to expect the same warm welcome, friendly service and care that we are proud to provide every day.

“We look forward to continuing to welcome guests and create wonderful experiences while this process takes place.

“Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming you soon.”

The refurbished hotel offers 24 individually designed bedrooms, including five suites, a 130-cover restaurant and bar, several lounges, and a dedicated events suite capable of accommodating up to 90 guests for standing receptions.

A town-centre car park and garden trading area provide an additional 70 covers.

Peter Brunt, director in the hotels agency team at Colliers, said: “The Stroud Hotel is a standout Cotswold town-centre hotel that successfully combines historic character with modern infrastructure and a high-quality food and beverage offering. The property represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator to build on the solid foundations put in place by the current owners and capitalise on Stroud’s growing profile as a lifestyle and visitor destination.”
