Officers from the Tetbury Neighbourhood Police Team have uncovered a significant cannabis grow operation during routine patrols of industrial units in the town.
PC Callum Morley-Blackwell and PCSO Ed encountered several suspicious individuals, who fled the scene. A subsequent search of the premises revealed a large cannabis factory and on-site living quarters used by the suspects.

With support from colleagues in Dursley, the operation was dismantled and a total of 225 plants were seized. Due to the size of the haul, officers temporarily used bedding found on-site to transport all the evidence.

Cotswolds Neighbourhood Police said: “We have to confess that we ran out of extra large evidence bags and had to borrow the suspects duvet covers in order to recover all of the 225 plants.

“We nearly didn’t get all the evidence in our van. We’ll be happy to return the bedding if the owners would like to get in touch with us at Cirencester.”
