Stonehouse Town Council has confirmed recent updates to the town’s flag displays. As part of these changes, flags previously displayed on lampposts have been removed, and a Union Flag has been raised alongside the flag of Ukraine on the Town Green.
Flags previously displayed on lampposts between Horsetrough Roundabout and Horsemarling Lane have now been removed.
The removal took place this week and follows ongoing discussions about the appropriate and consistent use of flags in public spaces.

To further support the town’s ability to display flags for civic and community occasions, the Council is currently obtaining quotes for the installation of two additional flagpoles, expected to be put in place in the new year.
A spokesperson for Stonehouse Town Council said: “The Town Council is pleased to see that the flags on lampposts between Horsetrough Roundabout and Horsemarling Lane were all removed yesterday, and – as agreed at the last Council meeting – we have today put up a Union flag on the Town Green flagpole. Quotes are being obtained for two additional flagpoles to be installed in the new year.”
