The Christmas season in Stroud is officially underway after a fantastic evening at Five Valleys, where the Christmas lights were switched on in a festive event proudly sponsored by Montpellier Legal, the multi award-winning Gloucestershire conveyancing firm.
The event ran from 6pm to 8pm with TV Motoring Presenter and Montpellier Legal COO Nick Ponting taking centre stage at 6.15pm to switch on the lights. Broadcaster and presenter Faye Hatcher led the countdown as the upper mall was transformed with sparkling decorations and beautifully lit garlands.
Families enjoyed an evening with festive activities, including a late-night food market, treats from local traders, a meet-and-greet with Christmas characters, a lively Christmas quiz, and plenty of entertainment in the Food Hall.

One of the biggest highlights was the roller-skating Christmas present, which delighted children and adults alike in the build up to the Switch On.
Chief Operating Officer for Montpellier Legal, Nick Ponting, said: “We’re really proud to be based here at Five Valleys in the heart of Stroud, and events like this really show what a fantastic community we’re part of. It was a lovely evening full of festive spirit, and we’re delighted to support such a vibrant local celebration.”
Five Valleys Centre Manager Mick Grundy added: “The lights switch-on is always one of our favourite events, and we are grateful for the support of Montpellier Legal. It’s a brilliant way to support our traders and celebrate the start of the festive season.
“Christmas is now officially launched at Five Valleys, and we’ve got loads happening over the coming weeks, including the launch of The Home of Vintage in early December.”

Look out for details of the Festive Friday event on Friday 28th November, and there will be more festive fun for Stroud Goodwill on Friday December 5th. The centre is also launching its extended food hall in the first week of December as well as the Home of Vintage traders.
