Cricket club needs your support

A cricket club that has been in existence since 1820, needs your help.

Selsley cricket club want to improve the playing experience at  their picturesque ground through the purchase of a motorised roller and regular maintenance of the playing surface.

The corona-virus pandemic affected the club with reduced playing opportunities and income generation from matches, whilst financial demands on the club, in terms of maintenance costs, increased.

Unfortunately, during the pandemic, the upkeep of the ground also suffered and now the playing surface needs a lot more attention and restoration.

The main goal of Selsley cricket club is to encourage grassroots cricket and get people into playing cricket, using their unique ground and facilities.

Selsley CC see themselves as  more than just a cricket club. They are part of our local community and offer opportunities to socialise, reduce isolation, and for inter-generational engagement.

The crowdfunding target of £4,500 is well within sight, with £3720 already raised.  There has been a tremendous response with individuals and nearby cricket clubs at King Stanley and Stroud CC donating. Once the target is reached, Sport England ( through Active Together)  will provide £1,350 of 30% matched  funding to enable the club to improve the playing facilities at the Selsley Hill ground.

To help encourage grassroots cricket at Selsley,  and help the cricket club reach their target, Stroud Times readers can donate to the crowd funder at  Making Selsley Cricket Club Great Again
