Stroud Valleys Project is saying a huge ‘thank you’ to the people of Stroud and surrounding towns and villages for donations to their Woodland Wizard Crowdfunder appeal.
The charity hit its £2,500 online target, which will be match funded to £5,000 by the Big Give, on Friday 29 April. The money will be used to employ a Woodland Wizard: a tree-planting expert who can also support a team of volunteers to learn new skills.
Clare Mahdiyone, SVP’s CEO says, “We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, especially as we know times are so hard for many of us at the moment. The money will go towards planting trees across our district, making Stroud a better place for our community… and for our wildlife.
“If your interest has been piqued by our Woodland Wizard campaign, we’d love you to join us as a Friend of SVP – there are different levels of membership starting from as little as £15 a year, and at the moment we have projects underway at Capel’s Mill, Stratford Park, Arundel Mill Pond, Kingswood, Sarah’s Field in Berkeley and Rackleaze Wetlands in Cam, to name but a few!”
