Dale Vince OBE responds to fans fury after anger to his Queen tweet

Forest Green chairman and Ecotricity owner Dale Vince has responded to fans after his Queen in the club kit tweet.

The leftfield chairman, who was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 2004, uploaded a photoshopped image of the Queen wearing the green and black striped home shirt, just a few hours after her passing.

He captioned the image “Thanks Liz”, with the original picture appearing to be of the Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

A day after his tweet Vince, who became the first chairman to not wear a tie in the Royal Box when Rovers won promotion at Wembley to the Football League in 2017, responded to fans by saying: “Met the Queen when picking up my OBE – she was wearing a green dress and we talked about green energy and stuff. It was a funny experience, and she had a good sense of humour – unlike some here.”
