For the love of dogs: marathon man Sam raises vital cash for Teckels

Marathon man Sam Little was overwhelmed to raise a whopping £1,000 for Teckels animal rescue and rehoming centre.

Sam completed his challenge in an impressive 3 hours, 27 minutes, and 25 seconds, by running the same 2-mile loop 13 times to achieve the full marathon distance.

Sam said: “My mind is blown to the fact that over £1,000 was raised in total, considering I thought it was going to settle at £600.”

Running has proved to be a salvation for courageous Sam.

The loss of his two dogs within six months of each other left 29-year-old at rock bottom, where he got immersed into a food addiction that saw his weight balloon- up to more than 18 stone.

Sam isn’t stopping and is planning to run the Weymouth Half Marathon next weekend, the Stroud Half, and the London Marathon in an action-packed 2021.

Sam is now hoping to add legs to his new Shakealeg Stroud running club.

Sam added: “I want to build something that helps anyone get active, no pressures, no set pace, no set runner levels, just getting people out and active.”
