Inspired by a barking tree frog, Forest Green’s new playing kit was unveiled for the first time in a pre-season friendly at the New Lawn on Saturday.
The most talked about playing shirts in the country have certainly had a mixed reaction so far with fans saying it “Looks ridiculous!! Keir Starmer is the only other person who could think this would be a good idea.”
“Kat Slater springs to mind, they’ll all be looking for a job at The Queen Vic.”
One fan told Stroud Times: “I was actually impressed when seeing it live and it looked less startling – I will buy one now and I’ve been won over by it despite a 3-0 home defeat to Walsall this afternoon.”

Another fan said: “The shirts match the pitch, so this could be a problem when players are picking out their team-mates. I also felt the white shirt numbers and names were really hard to pick out from the stands – they should change them to black instead.”

The new home shirt will be worn for two seasons as part of the club’s commitment to reduce waste and lower the burden on fans to purchase a new design every year.
The recyclable material will then be remade into new products to help tackle the amount of textile waste generated by the sports industry each year.
