Several players who played a pivotal role in Forest Green Rovers’ remarkable rise through the football pyramid were back at The New Lawn this afternoon, contributing to a memorable occasion for fans and former players alike.
Combative defender Matt Coupe, energetic midfielder Rob Cook, tenacious striker Paul Hunt, hot-shot Marc McGregor, solid defender Jim Rollo, and hard-working striker Alex Meechan were all in attendance to watch Rovers defeat Weston-super-Mare 4-0 in the FA Trophy. Former FGR administrator Colin Peake, ex- chairman Ken Boulton and former director Gerald Mauler also went down memory lane with the old players.
Later, they were joined in a hospitality box by Seagulls’ manager Scott Rogers, himself a former Forest Green player.
The reunion celebrated the club’s history and the enduring impact these players had on Rovers’ journey through the football pyramid.
