Forest Green will face Robbie Savage’s former club Derby County in a pre-season friendly next month.
John Eustace’s Championship side will visit the New Lawn on Friday, August 1, 7pm.
Rovers faced the Rams in the League One campaign in 2022-23, but they first locked horns in the memorable FA Cup match in 2009. Savage was an unused substitute on the day.
In front of 4,836 fans, Rovers raced into a 2-0 lead through Jonathan Smith and Alex Lawless. However, goals from Rob Hulse and Martin Albrechtsen made it 2-2 at the break. Paul Stonehouse put Rovers ahead only for Paul Green to reply for Derby and at the death Darren Jones was red for conceding a penalty, netted by Steve Davies.
