Scott Lindsey, Jamie Day and Steve Hale have helped Crawley Town gain promotion to League One after beating Crewe Alexandra in their first ever win at Wembley.

Goals from Danilo Orsi and the outstanding Liam Kelly capped a dominant display for the Lindsey’s side in the League Two play-off final, backed by 17,000 fans, who travelled from West Sussex.

Lindsey, a popular figure with Rovers’ fans, previously tasted Wembley promotion as assistant manager to Mark Cooper, when the Nailsworth side were promoted to League Two in 2017. Current Crawley goalkeeping coach Steve Hale was also part of Cooper’s backroom staff.

Day, who is assistant to Lindsey at Crawley, served Rovers under former boss Ady Pennock.
