After years of dedication, compassion, and tireless commitment, Abbie Warren, founder and CEO of Sunflowers Suicide Support, has announced she will step down from her role at the end of June.
Sunflowers Suicide Support was founded following the devastating loss of Abbie’s brother, Pete, to suicide in 2016. Determined to ensure no family had to face suicide bereavement alone, Abbie transformed personal tragedy into a mission that has since grown into one of Gloucestershire’s leading providers of suicide bereavement support and intervention training.
Over the past decade, Sunflowers has become a vital source of support for individuals and families affected by suicide, building a community rooted in compassion, understanding, and hope.
As the charity approaches the 10-year anniversary of Pete’s passing, Abbie has decided the time is right to step back and focus on the next chapter of her personal and professional life.
To mark this new beginning, Abbie will be taking part in the Ultra Challenge, walking 50km in aid of Sunflowers Suicide Support. Supporters are encouraged to join the charity in celebrating and supporting her as she embarks on this next stage of life.

Reflecting on her time leading the charity, Abbie said: “I feel so incredibly grateful for every single person I’ve met through Sunflowers. The kindness, strength, and compassion in this community has meant everything to me. I will miss our Sunflowers families more than I can put into words, but I truly believe this change will help the charity continue to grow and reach even more people.
“I will always be cheering Sunflowers on, and it will always be an important part of me. I truly hope that the work we have done, and continue to do, would have made my brother proud.”
As Sunflowers prepares for this transition, the charity has announced that Chloe Webb, currently Operations Manager, will step into the role of Interim CEO. Having spent the past three years with the organisation, Chloe brings extensive experience, passion, and commitment to the role.
Chloe Webb said she is honoured to continue building on the strong foundations established by Abbie and looks forward to leading the charity into its next chapter.
With several exciting projects on the horizon, Sunflowers Suicide Support remains committed to expanding its reach and continuing to provide essential support to bereaved families across Gloucestershire and beyond.
