Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS) is holding a free open day for people interested in exploring a pathway into counselling.
The Gloucestershire Counselling Service (GCS) is set to host its much-anticipated Open Day on Saturday, June 21, from 10am to 2pm, at Alma House, 52/53 High Street, Stroud, Glos, GL5 1AP. Admission to this community-focused event is free and open to everyone.
Founded in 1984, GCS has spent the past 40 years establishing itself as a cornerstone of mental health support and counselling training in Gloucestershire.
With services spanning Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud, Tewkesbury, and Cirencester, the organisation boasts a BACP-accredited adult counselling service and training programmes that provide recognised pathways to professional qualifications.
Highlights of the Day
The Open Day promises a wealth of activities and information for prospective counsellors, mental health professionals, and community members. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
• Discover pathways to train as a counsellor or access GCS’s counselling services
• Engage with GCS tutors, counsellors, trustees, and current trainees
• Attend the 12:30pm talk on the Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling, a BPC-accredited three-year training programme
• Learn about the Certificate in Counselling Skills and Introduction to Counselling Skills courses
• Find out how to access counselling via Gloucestershire’s only BACP-accredited adult counselling service
• Explore specialised services, including the Child & YP Service, parent and child counselling, employee wellbeing programmes, and collaborations with Gloucestershire schools
