A huge fire has broken out in Moreton Valance this afternoon, Monday.
Clouds of black smoke has been pouring out from the site from Moreton Valance, just south of Hardwicke.
The fire had led to traffic chaos on the M5 in both directions at J12 A430 (Quedgeley / Hardwicke). Traffic on the motorway has now resumed again
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We’re currently attending a large fire in Moreton Valence. There is likely to be lots of smoke in the area for the next few hours due to the strong winds. Please keep doors and windows closed for your safety.
“Fire crews were called at around 4.30pm this afternoon after a fire broke out on Hiltmead Lane, just north of Moreton Valence. It’s a shed fire and inside the shed is a large amount of tyres contributing to a lot of smoke.
“Five fire appliances are at the scene; two from Gloucester North, one from Cheltenham east, one from Stroud and one from Nailsworth”
