Shortwood atoned for their midweek 6-0 thrashing at FC Bristol by earning a battling point on a day when players from yesteryear staged a reunion at Meadowbank, writes Jim Cunneen.
The likes of John Evans, Pat Casey, Wayne Hams, Nick Bell, Doug Foxwell, David Bedwell, Ian Freebrey, Clint Gobey, Colin Walker, Terry Haile, Mike Davis, Terry Patterson, Ross Casey, Mike Green, Rich Evans and former groundsman Mark Webb all returned to watch the latest generation take on FC Stratford.
The visitors took the lead when Hill’s 20 yarder went in off the post.
Wood levelled after 65 minutes. Essa Sabally’s long throw bounced about before Alex Gayner prodded the ball over the line.
Billy Thomas had to make a good save to deny Mubaki in the dying seconds.
