Forest Green boss Ian Burchnall has made his first foray into the transfer window by landing Brandon Cooper on loan from Swansea City.
The 22-year-old has linked up with FGR on a deal until the end of the season. Cooper is a left-sided defender who has made 11 first-team appearances at Swansea – the club he has been at since the age of six.
Cooper has previously had loan spells at Yeovil Town, Newport County and Swindon Town. Having come through the ranks at the South Wales outfit, Cooper is well-versed in playing possession-based football.
Upon joining FGR, Cooper told the FGR website: “It feels good to sign for Forest Green. I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get going.
“I’ve played here before and I know quite a bit about the Club. I know the style of football they play is good.
“Hopefully I can help the team turn the good style into some good results.”
Head of Performance & Recruitment, Stevie Grieve, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Brandon to the Club.
“His determination, leadership and defensive qualities will help the team in our push to win more matches.”
Meanwhile, Harry Boyes has been recalled from his loan spell by parent club Sheffield United with immediate effect.
The wing-back made 16 appearances during his loan spell at The Bolt New Lawn, providing three assists.
