Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Tetbury Music Festival, with a line-up of internationally acclaimed musicians set to perform in the heart of the Cotswolds this autumn.
Running from 26 September to 4 October, the festival will present six concerts featuring world-renowned artists in an intimate setting, following the success of its inaugural Song Weekend earlier this year.
Renowned for its exceptional performances, carefully curated programmes and picturesque venues, the Tetbury Music Festival has become one of the region’s leading classical music events, regularly attracting sell-out audiences. The festival is run entirely without public subsidy and is supported by its Friends, patrons and donors.
Festival Director Caz Weller Knight said: “Following a successful inaugural Song Weekend, we’re delighted to open booking for the autumn Festival.
“This is a programme of contrasts – from the theatre of Monteverdi and Stravinsky to the intimacy of Beethoven’s solo violin sonatas and the sounds of a string quartet, to the luminous choral world of The Gesualdo Six.
“We hope audiences will join us for what promises to be a very special season.”
The 2026 festival will also be the first under the guidance of Artistic Adviser Sir Nicholas Kenyon, who succeeds Jonathan Cohen in the role.
Tetbury Music Festival continues to enjoy the support of its patron, King Charles III.
The festival opens on Saturday 26 September at The Goods Shed with Igor Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale, a dramatic fusion of music and theatre led by violinist Miranda Fulleylove.
Featuring a seven-piece ensemble and a cast of singer-actors, the one-hour production will be directed by Elgiva Field and conducted by Peter Ash, with performances at 6pm and 8pm.
On Thursday 1 October, internationally acclaimed violinist Viktoria Mullova joins fortepianist Alasdair Beatson to perform Beethoven’s Sonatas Nos. 3, 2 and 9 (‘Kreutzer’) at St Mary’s Church.
The following evening sees the return of celebrated Italian ensemble La Fonte Musica, directed by Michele Pasotti, with La Sera del Combattimento, recreating the first performance of Monteverdi’s Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda based on the composer’s own account of the historic evening.
Further performances during the festival will continue to showcase internationally recognised artists, reinforcing Tetbury’s reputation as a destination for world-class classical music.
