Dear Sir,
I really feel local sports journalists give football managers an easy ride and are far too cosy with them.
I understand the landscape of journalism has changed due to savage cuts and newspaper websites and radio now use students to cover matches, which is a wonderful opportunity, but they need to hold people to account and ask the questions that we as fans want to hear.
On the flipside, I do understand the need to build relationships as they work with these people week-in-week out and support the club they cover, but the searching questions are always missed.
Dave Criddle.
David, thanks for your letter. It can be a fine balance between holding people to account and forging a good working relationship, but we will try to do better.
Ash Loveridge.
