Dear Editor,
As listeners to BBC Radio Gloucestershire for decades, we are greatly saddened by the BBC cuts.
It was a friendly station and we felt that we knew the presenters. My wife always said that listening to Anna King was just like having coffee with her over a chat in the kitchen.
With the departure of all of the well known presenters as part of the BBC reorganisation of local radio, may I suggest another way to help their economy. Simply sell the London Road site and convert it into flats.
Finally, since the number of listeners is reportedly falling, close down the 1413 Khz transmitter and link the 95Mhz and 104.7 Mhz transmitters to Radio 1, but with two short breaks at 16.30 and 17.30 for the local weather forecast.
All that is then needed to complete the change is a blue plaque on the wall stating that Anna King, Faye Hatcher, Kate Clark, Dominic Cotter and Mark Cummings worked here until 2023.
