Brimscombe & Thrupp manager Tim Bond praised the instant impact of new signing Jacob Newdick after the forward scored four goals on his debut in a 10-0 Hellenic League Cup thrashing of Kidlington FC Development.
Newdick, who joined from Highworth Town earlier in the week, made an immediate impression, while Jordan Adeji added a brace. Additional goals came from Vlad Yarmolenko, Lewis Toop, Harry Dowling, and Harrison Archer.
Bond said: “We made several changes to the side to give some much-needed minutes to players, and those who came in were excellent. Jacob Newdick, a player we’ve been keen to bring in since the summer, was brought in to add goals, and for him to score four on his debut was fantastic. It really showed both the club and the fans what he’s all about.”
He added: “That said, we’re aware the opposition wasn’t of the standard we’ll face in the league, but those types of games can sometimes be tricky and lack intensity. Credit to the lads for maintaining our standards throughout. Confidence in the camp is high, and we now turn our focus to another cup fixture on Tuesday — another opportunity for us to perform well and look to get the win.”
