Meet the new owner of popular Stroud coffee shop

A popular coffee shop in Stroud town centre has a new owner.

Loganberry, at the top of Stroud High Street, first opened in 2020 and was run by Janette Brain until her retirement last month. Ollie Green, a former member of staff at the Prince Albert in Rodborough, has taken over: “This was always my regular and I got to hear that Janette was leaving. I’d recently quit my job and was looking for something to do that benefitted me more than a company.

“I’ve worked in hospitality before – I used to work up at the Albert – but I’ve never worked in a café before, so this is pretty intense training.”

Ollie, who is accompanied daily by his dog Moose, says flat whites are the most popular drinks at the moment: “It’s delicious coffee, the same coffee that Janette used. I’m carrying on running things the way she did, but with a bit of a twist of my own.

“Her famous cake recipes have been passed on to me – myself and a friend helps me make them – she’s an incredible baker and I’m less so.

“I’ve got Janette’s recipes and I’m trying to work my way through them. There are a lot of crowd favourites that I haven’t started on yet, but I will be soon.”

Loganberry is open 8am-3pm Monday to Wednesday, 8am-4pm on Thursday, 8am-5pm on Friday and 8am-4pm on Saturdays, and Ollie has plans to open on Sundays ‘in the near future’.
