A serious crash on the M4 motorway in Wiltshire this morning is having knock-on effects on roads throughout Gloucestershire.
A multi-vehicle collision occurred at around 9.10am on the M4 eastbound between junctions 18 (Bath) and 17 (Chippenham). The motorway has been closed in both directions and is expected to be closed for most of the day.
The M5 motorway northbound has delays, and roads in and around Stroud have much heavier traffic than usual.
A Wotton-under-Edge resident claimed it was taking 45 minutes to drive through the town as cars and trucks try to find an alternative route.
