Randwick netball, as one of the top two teams in the Gloucestershire League, is playing an exhibition game on Sunday at Plock Court after the Severn Stars Super League game (5 PM).
Randwick’s thriving junior section (11-16) has just won 4 out of 8 Divisions in the Glos County Junior League with the U13s squad winning the cup competition.
Randwick’s lead coach is ex-Severn Stars’ Performance Pathway Head Coach Yasmin Vines.
Cub spokesperson Sara Constantine said: “Yasmin delivers amazing sessions for all, both talented athletes and social players. We have a strong ethic of keeping girls and women engaged with the sport through playing, officiating, and coaching, with 5 members achieving their Level 1 coaching award this year and 2 members currently working towards their Into officiating award, and one progressing to their A award umpire qualification.
“We have grown as a club post-Covid, despite the trend in participation in sport reducing post-pandemic, as a result of the clubs’ commitment to keeping all players supported and engaged during the period we could not play.”
Netball will be a main sport at the Commonwealth Games this year in Birmingham with England the defending champions.
