New gallery set to open in Stroud

Five Valleys Gallery is a new permanent contemporary gallery opening in Stroud, showcasing up to 36 selected artists from Stroud and the Five Valleys, alongside additional artists from Bristol, Bath, and London.

The gallery presents a professionally curated mix of contemporary work, including award-winning landscape painters — three of whom have featured in Landscape Artist of the Year — alongside ceramics, glass, and sculpture.

This diverse range of disciplines creates a visually engaging and high-quality exhibition space designed to appeal to both seasoned collectors and a broader public.

Five Valleys Gallery is scheduled to open in early February in the Home of Vintage area of the Five Valleys Shopping Centre, placing it within a lively retail environment with strong footfall and visibility in the heart of Stroud.

Created by artists for artists, the gallery offers a well-run commercial space where work can be professionally displayed and sold. It aims to provide artists with a strong and consistent regional presence, supporting sustainable creative practice while contributing to Stroud’s already vibrant cultural scene.

“We wanted to create a gallery that gives artists a more permanent exhibition space — visible, professional, and commercially viable,” says Chris James, founder of Five Valleys Gallery. “It’s about building something exciting and creating a strong platform for high-quality work in the region.”
