The derby day bragging rights were shared in a scoreless draw at the Rec.

In an even Gloucestershire Northern Senior One encounter, both sides felt they had legitimate claims for two penalties apiece. Only a wonder save at the death from Ben Jagger denied Chalford the points.

Dursley boss Karl Nash felt the scoreline was fair, he said: “Both teams didn’t have a clear cut chance as the defences stood strong.

“We started the sharper of the two teams, had a penalty waved away within two minutes and both teams could have had two penalties each, but on the day a draw was a fair result.”

Nash’s counterpart at Chalford, Ben Powell, concurred with his synopsis: “It was a fair result, both teams didn’t do enough to win the game. Both teams had really good penalty appeals that weren’t given.

“Ben Jagger pulled off a fantastic save with 10 minutes to go from Natty Buckland’s volley, which we all thought was in, but he managed to get down and claw it out.”
