In a Ukrainian-style watery solstice celebration, wild swimmers enjoyed a dip in a cool rural pool as the solstice sun rose over the Cotswold hills at 4.50 am this morning.
The swimmers were wearing willow crowns adorned with flowers and foliage including sunflowers, alliums, ferns, ox eye daises, valerian, oak and wheat.
Welcoming in midsummer were Ukrainian Yuliya Poberezhnik, yoga and mindfulness coach, Maria-Carin Gala, cookery teacher and author from Stroud, and Clare Honeyfield, business owner and coach from Stroud.
