Police are appealing for information after masked burglars forced their way into a home in Berkeley before stealing a car and a watch.

The incident happened in the Berrycroft area during the early hours of Wednesday 22 July.

It was reported that two masked men first attempted to gain entry to the property at around 2.05am but fled after being disturbed.

However, they returned around 25 minutes later, at approximately 2.30am, forced entry into the house and stole the keys to a Volkswagen Golf along with a watch.

The pair then drove away in the Golf, which had been parked on the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered abandoned and damaged.

Officers have reviewed doorbell footage from the property, which shows two men, both described as being of slim build. One was wearing a black tracksuit and a balaclava, while the other was dressed in a grey and black tracksuit with a face covering.

Investigators believe the suspects travelled to the area in a separate vehicle before carrying out the burglary.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the two men or a suspicious vehicle in the Berrycroft area before the incident to come forward.

They are also asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage that could assist the investigation to contact Gloucestershire Police, quoting the incident details.
