Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage to a road traffic incident

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash near Stroud last night.

The man, in his late 30s, was riding a white pedal cycle when he crashed on the A46 at Pitchcombe at around 8.25pm.

He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with a head and leg injury and remains in hospital.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the collision or anyone with dashcam footage.

Police are also appealing to identify the drivers of a dark-coloured Saab and a dark-coloured VW Passat as they are believed to have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed what happened.

Students, staff and families at Stroud High School were celebrating this morning as Year 11 students collected an impressive set of GCSE results. This year, 22 per cent of all grades awarded were Grade 9, the highest grade available at GCSE. More than half of all grades (51 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-8, while almost three-quarters (74 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-7.
