Police launch investigation after box of faeces left outside MP’s office

Police are investigating after a box of human faeces and a derogatory message was found on the doorstep of Conservative MP Siobhan Baillie’s office in Stroud.

“It’s difficult to understand the motivation of anybody who would leave a box of poo for another person to open,” said Ms Baillie after her staff made the grim discovery. “It is disgusting.  We are also in the middle of town.  What would have happened if a child had picked it up instead?

“My staff should not have to deal with things like this. They are caseworkers helping local people with problems. Nobody deserves having to find this stuff outside their workplace and MPs have been murdered in recent years so we cannot ignore strange or nasty behaviour.

“I ask the good people of Stroud for help. Please have a good look at the handwriting on the poo box.  If anybody recognises it, call the police.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police has said: “Police are investigating an allegation of harassment after an offensive item was left outside of the constituency office of Stroud MP Siobhan Baillie.

“We are taking this incident of harassment seriously and ask that anyone with information contacts Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website and quote incident 212 of 2 November.”
