Hundreds of people joined the Pride parade in Wotton-under-Edge on Saturday for the third staging of Wotton Pride.

The parade was led by people carrying the new Pride flag that was part of a community sewing project. Starting at the junction of Church Street and Long Street, the parade made its way to Market Street where there was live music on the Stoney Chipping stage, sponsored by Renishaw.

Another new addition was the Kidstown event at the Royal Oak in Haw Street, which made the event more accessible for young families.

Becki Britton-Griffiths, director of Wotton Pride said: “What can I say about Wotton Pride? Just wow! Wotton you outdid yourself yet again. I’m so proud to have grown up and live in such a wonderful town.

“This year we had the new addition of Kidstown at The Royal Oak, and it was a huge success. We had more stalls which were super successful and the return of the Stoney Chipping Mainstage.

“Last year one of our core audiences was missing so we listened and this year our young adults came out in force, leading the parade and singing their hearts out to Chappell Phenomenon.

“The highlight of this year has to be The Big Pride Stitch, a community sewing project where we are creating a giant Pride flag and the aim is for it to grow year on year. Watch this space for when the project starts again to add your square and be a part of this rich tapestry.”

Plans are already underway for Wotton Pride 2027 with Saturday, June 12th being slated for next year’s event.
