Stroud-based business Redler Ltd was represented at a high-profile SME reception in Number 11 Downing Street, accompanied by local MP Dr Simon Opher and business owner Matt Knight.
The reception, hosted by Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves, brought together SMEs from the South West region to share their experiences and priorities ahead of the upcoming Autumn Budget. Redler Ltd used the opportunity to highlight the successes and challenges of running a local business and to engage directly with the Chancellor on issues affecting SMEs.
Dr Simon Opher MP for Stroud said: “Businesses like Redler Ltd are so valuable to the local economy here in Stroud, employing local people and serving our community with pride. This Government knows how important SMEs are to Stroud and the country, which is why it was brilliant to take the experiences and thoughts of our local businesses directly to the Chancellor ahead of the Budget this Autumn.”
Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: “We are a pro-business government, and we know that SMEs are the beating heart of high streets, industrial estates and local economies across the country. That’s why we’re reforming business rates, have secured trade deals with the US, EU and India to boost exports of whisky, gin and other British products, and have seen interest rates cut five times since the election, benefiting businesses in every part of Britain.”
