Allsorts charity and Stroud & District Athletics Club held their first ever Santa Dash at Woodchester Park on Sunday, bringing plenty of colour and Christmas cheer to a very wet December day.
Around 200 runners gathered at Tinkley Gate, most of them dressed in Santa suits or festive gear, ready to take on the 5km route in support of Allsorts, the Stroud charity that supports children and young people with additional needs.
People of all ages and abilities joined in, including some Allsorts members themselves, who were keen to be part of the occasion. They were joined by a lively collection of festive dogs, many sporting their own Christmas outfits and proving to be just as popular as the runners.

Even though the rain set in early, it didn’t dampen the mood. Runners, walkers, families and volunteers all embraced the weather, and the atmosphere remained upbeat from start to finish. Organisers were delighted with the turnout and hope this will become a regular festive event for the local community. (Next year’s event is Sunday 6th dec)
Around £2,500 has been raised so far, and a fundraising page is still active: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/allsortssantadash2025
