Shortwood United have appointed Marcus Foxwell to take over as manager from Dan Gillespie.
Foxwell steps up from Gillespie’s backroom staff after the Wood boss left to become Stuart Fleetwood’s assistant at Southern Premier Division Swindon Supermarine last week.
Foxwell, who is the son Doug Foxwell, the former Forest Green, Gloucester City, Kidderminster, Sharpness and Shortwood midfielder, will be assisted at Meadowbank by head coach Matt Tunley and goalkeeping coach Andrew Moody, who remain at the club following Gillespie’s exit.
A club statement read: “Following the departure of Dan Gillespie Shortwood are delighted that the rest of the management team have decided to take up the reins and remain with the club.”
Tonight, Shortwood travel to Hartpury FC for a Hellenic League Division One clash.
