On a sun-kissed Sunday, Team Bath AC runner Lester James stormed home at the 43rd staging of the popular event. Hundreds of spectators lined Cainscross Road to cheer home friends and family taking part in the race.
Running for Team Bath Athletics Club, James hit the tape ahead of Victoria Park Harriers and Tower Hamlets AC’s Harry Wells, clocking a winning chip time of 1:07:58.5, with Wells finishing second in 1:08:48.8.

Third place went to Stroud & District AC’s Nicholas Coyle, who posted a time of 1:09:31.2. Leeds City Athletics Club’s Tadhgh Keating finished fourth in a chip time of 1:10:19.5.
Stroud AC’s Alister Liscott finished seventh with a time of 1:11:38.6 and fellow club runner Matt Hudd came home in ninth in 1:12:04.1.

Severn AC’s Alice Tredgett was first female runner home in 1:19:35.0, finishing 43rd overall. Thea Lowe, the first female Stroud AC runner home, crossed the line in a time of 1:29:29.7.
Race numbers eclipsed last year’s with 1,468 starters and 263 starting in the inaugural Stroud 10K, which ran alongside the main event with Andy Monro from Severn AC coming home in 39:01.0. Stroud’s Jamie Versaci finished sixth with a time of 40:57.4 and fellow Stroud runner Mia Hogg clocking a time of 43:44.8 in the U20 category to take 18th spot.

As ever, the race raised important funds for various charity organisations, including The Door, Longfield Hospice and the Stroud District Foodbank.
