A lucky young music fan was left gobsmacked after being handed the guitar plectrum used on stage at Glastonbury by Guns N’ Roses legend Slash.
Seb Connors-Jones,12, was given the night of his young life as the US rockers made their Glastonbury debut as they headlined the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night for a two-hour set.
Seb’s dad Matt, a professional actor, revealed the magical moment that the Deer Park schoolboy from Horsley will never forget as the plectrum used by Slash on his Gibson Les Paul guitar went astray: “Seb was desperate to get to the front and got bumped all over the place.
“He was singing along with me and his sister Darcey when Slash wandered onto the gantry above us. He lost his plectrum mid-strum and it flew off the stage onto the floor in front and a security person picked it up and handed it to Seb – he was over the moon and hasn’t taken it out of his bum bag since.”
The performance featured the original line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan – who reunited in 2015.
Fans dressed in Slash’s trademark top hat, dark glasses and long black hair wigs, erupted as the guitarist struck up the famous opening riff to their hit song Welcome To The Jungle.
