Tour of Britain set to race through Gloucestershire on Friday

Gloucestershire will play host to the sixth stage of the Tour of Britain on Friday, September 9th.

Starting in Tewkesbury and finishing in Gloucester, the peloton will pass through Wotton-under-Edge, Dursley and Stroud in the afternoon, with a King of the Mountains stage on Crawley Hill, Uley.

Riders are expected to arrive in Dursley around 2.15 – 2.30pm, dependent on conditions on the day. They will head through Uley to Stroud, arriving at the roundabout near Sainsbury’s between 2.33 and 2.55pm, then on to the A46 Painswick Road via Stratford Road.

The stage finishes in Southgate Street, Gloucester at around 3-3.30pm.

For each stage, there is a schedule based on three average speeds, which consider how the race could be contested as well as the impact of weather conditions.

The predicted speed for the 2022 race is 42kph. A slightly slower and faster timetable is also provided to help spectators plan their visit to the race.
