An empty Stroud shop has been sold for £100,000 at auction.

The much-loved property in Nelson Street that was fondly remembered as a wine shop in the 1980s and latterly a waffles shop.

The sale went above the guide price of £90,000. 

It is described by estate agents Maggs and Allen as a three storey freehold mixed-use commercial premises.

The current layout boasts a café on the ground floor, a commercial kitchen on the first floor and living accommodation on the second floor.

Smiles, tears and top grades: Stroud High students celebrate GCSE success

Students, staff and families at Stroud High School were celebrating this morning as Year 11 students collected an impressive set of GCSE results. This year, 22 per cent of all grades awarded were Grade 9, the highest grade available at GCSE. More than half of all grades (51 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-8, while almost three-quarters (74 per cent) were awarded at Grades 9-7.
