A closed road that has brought a part of Nailsworth to a standstill, is set to run into another week, causing more heartache for traders.
George Street remains impassable after contractors hit a gas pipe during repairs to the key road, more than three weeks ago.
Wales & West Utilities are set to finish their repairs today, Friday before handing the baton over to Gloucestershire County Council. A sign placed at the works suggest the road will now reopen after May 7.

Andrew Wilding, Wales & West Utilities Operations Manager for Stroud, said: “We have made a full repair to the mains in the George Road area of Nailsworth following damage caused by third-party contractors resurfacing the road.
“Our engineers worked as safely and as quickly as possible to isolate and stop the leak, making it safe. This was a complex job, and the nature of the damage meant we needed to bring in additional teams to support our work.

“We are filling in the holes that we have dug and will then hand the road closure back over to Gloucestershire County Council, for them to complete their road resurfacing work.
“We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we worked to make this essential repair.”
