A selection of rare and exotic vehicles is set to go under the hammer at Wotton Auction Rooms next week.
The star of the sale on October 3rd in a 1972 Citroen SM, powered by a Maserati engine. The space-age designed car is extremely rare, with only 16 on UK roads: “It’s a work of futuristic art in its wonderful gold livery, and we estimate this example at £30,000 – £40,000,” said Joseph Trinder, Managing Director and Auctioneer at Wotton Auction Rooms.
Also in the sale is a 1972 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, originally owned by media impresario Lord Lew Grade, and is estimated to sell for £8,000 – £12,000.
The sale also features three Land Rovers, the oldest being a split-screen Series One Safari hardtop from 1956, originally used by the army, and has been with its last owner since 1983.
“This one’s an ideal restoration project for the incoming long, dark winter evenings, and is estimated at just £5,000 – £7,000, it’s a wonderful project for anyone,” explained Mr Trinder.
A 2012 long wheelbase Land Rover Defender also features in the sale, estimated at £15,000 – £20,000, along with a 2015 Land Rover Defender hard top with an estimate of £18,000 – £25,000.
