A warning has been issued following a parking fine text message scam.

A spokesperson for SDC said: “We’ve been made aware of a parking fine text message scam – thank you to a customer for telling us they’d received a text which took them to what looked like an official Government website.

“Stroud District Council only issues fines with tickets on vehicles and does not send texts or emails. More information on parking fines in SDC-owned car parks: www.stroud.gov.uk/streets-travel/parking/parking-fines/

“Remember, car parking can be paid for with cash at a ticket machine, or by using the MiPermit app, which can be used to top up your time if you need to: www.stroud.gov.uk/streets-travel/parking/mipermit-cashless-parking/ .
