The reason film crews have recently been spotted in Nailsworth and Stroud has been revealed.
Filming has taken place around Nailsworth at various locations, including Coco Confectionary in Fountain Street and K’n’G Convenience on Old Market Street and Nailsworth Social Club. Crews have also been spotted at Capel’s Mill in Stroud
Such A Vivid Imagination is a feature film written by Dave Fedash and directed by Ina Luders. The film features a raft of local talent with lead actress Sheherazade Farrell joined by Nancy Breheny and Cherry Walters.
The cast includes a number of actors from Susan Lynch’s Rats Stroud community theatre group, including sisters Laura and Vicky Ashcroft, whose brother is legendary musician Richard Ashcroft.
The film tells the story of 13-year-old Celia, whose summer takes an unexpected turn when she discovers her mother’s affair and stumbles upon a man’s body near her secret hideout. The narrative combines mystery, fantasy, and the trials of growing up, promising a fresh and compelling cinematic experience.
Media spokesperson for the film, Lee Stone said: “The project embraces a unique model where the cast and crew are working with a stake in the film’s potential success rather than upfront salaries, reflecting their belief in the film’s potential. Producers Julia Gurry and Alessandro Garau have led successful fundraising efforts through crowdfunding and private equity, with an ongoing campaign seeking an additional £20,000 to support post-production.”
