Friends of a popular former Nailsworth shop owner want to fund a memorial bench to honour her memory.
Jane Luff passed away suddenly in June, leaving the town she served in mourning. Her funeral saw hundreds of friends and neighbours gather in the centre of Nailsworth to pay respects to their much-loved friend, with a huge daisy chain decorating her Daisy Jane clothing shop in George Street.
Memorial bench organiser Charlotte Miles, who owns Pulp in Nailsworth now wants to place a bench in the town to remember her close friend: “I am raising money to install a memorial bench for my dear friend Jane, who ran Daisy Jane until she passed away suddenly in June this year.
“Jane was very active in the town, the community and with the British Legion, and as so we have decided to install a memorial bench, dedicated to her, in the clocktower garden.
“The bench will be wooden, and will have hand painted daisies and poppies on the arms. Please donate anything you can towards the cause, and I will fund the remainder.
“Jane was an asset to the town, and the world, and is sorely missed by everyone.”
“There will be collection boxes available in Pulp, Daisy Jane and Jacaranda on George Street.”
