A woman in her 90s has died following a two-vehicle collision in Stroud earlier this month and police are appealing for witnesses.

At around 1.35pm on Monday 12 January there was a collision on the A46 Painswick Road in Pitchcombe, close to the junction with Wades Lane.

This involved a silver Suzuki Alto and a red Toyota Aygo.

The occupants of the Suzuki were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment. The passenger, a woman aged in her 90s and from the Cheltenham area, died in hospital two days later on 14 January.

The driver, a man aged in his 70s, has since been discharged from hospital.

The driver of the Toyota was assessed by paramedics at the scene and required no further treatment.

Police attended the scene and enquiries took place, and the road was reopened after the vehicles were recovered.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police, or anyone who has dashcam footage, is asked to provide information to officers online by completing the following form and quoting incident 225 of 12 January: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/
