Yeovil Town set to make a move for former Forest Green favourite Tom Knowles

Yeovil Town are keeping tabs on former fan favourite Tom Knowles, with reports suggesting discussions have taken place over a potential return to Huish Park.

The 26-year-old forward enjoyed a successful spell with the Glovers between 2021 and 2023, scoring 16 goals in 76 appearances and establishing himself as a popular figure among supporters.

Knowles is currently available following an unexpected departure from Forest Green Rovers. The National League side had believed they had activated an option to extend his contract beyond the 2024/25 season. However, a legacy administrative error reportedly rendered the extension clause invalid, allowing the player to leave as a free agent.

Despite the circumstances surrounding his exit, Knowles leaves Forest Green after an impressive campaign in which he scored 10 goals in 45 National League appearances following his move from Walsall in 2024.

Speaking ahead of a fixture between Forest Green and Yeovil last season, Knowles reflected fondly on his time at Huish Park.

“I had a great couple of years there. They took a punt on me when I was younger and they gave me a foundation to build my career on and for that I’m extremely thankful to them, the fans and the great people at the club,” he said.
