Your guide to reporting antisocial behaviour

MOST READ

Stroud District Council has launched a powerful new online reporting tool to make it easier than ever for residents to report antisocial behaviour (ASB).

The tool, available at www.stroud.gov.uk/report-it, is central to the council’s “Report It To Sort It” campaign, which aims to keep communities safe and take swift action on ASB.

The new digital platform allows residents to report issues such as vandalism, noise nuisance, and intimidating behaviour quickly and easily from any device. Reports submitted through the tool go straight through to the team and help shape the council’s response, including targeted evening patrols by newly appointed Community Officers.

“Our new online tool is a game-changer,” said Councillor Martin Brown, Chair of the Community Services and Licensing Committee. “It puts the power in residents’ hands to tell us what’s happening in their communities. The more we know, the more we can do. We want to keep you safe—and this tool helps us do just that.”

In response to the data gathered through the tool, alongside information from the police, Community Officers will be carrying out evening patrols in areas where ASB is most frequently reported. These patrols are designed to deter antisocial behaviour, provide a visible presence, and offer reassurance to residents and local businesses—many of whom are particularly affected during summer evenings.

Ange Gillingham, Head of Communities for Stroud District Council, added: “We’re using real-time information from the community to guide our patrols and focus our efforts where they’re needed most. This is about being proactive, visible, and responsive. It’s the first step in addressing the issue.”

The council is also working with local businesses and youth organisations to address the root causes of ASB. A programme of summer activities for young people will be rolled out to provide positive alternatives and reduce the likelihood of disruptive behaviour.

Residents are encouraged to visit www.stroud.gov.uk/report-it to report any concerns. Every report helps the council take action and build safer, stronger and more resilient communities.
